SHAR-PEI "JTENYEN" Hi My name is Ann. I have been crazy about dogs since I was a very small child. My parents didn't like dogs or certainly any animal in the house so whenever I asked for a pet dog I couldnt have one. So they compromised with me being able to borrow other peoples dogs whilst the owners went on holidays, and dog walking for anyone who would let me take their dogs out. Then I was finally given a Black toy poodle puppy for my 21st birthday. I got involved in obedience and puppy training with him. I took him along to a few shows but his bite wasnt right, but he did manage to win the waggiest tail competition and would always do his best for pet agility trials at the local fete. My next dog was a Black Standard Poodle called Jasper, then came along a Giant Schnauzer who qualified for Crufts at her first show in Blackpool. I was hooked by then. She also did obedience classes and managed the european finish really well. Then a few years ago I was introduced to the Shar-pei. What a facinating breed! I researched for ages into the breed and finally decided I would treat myself for my 40th birthday. I have never looked back and I am truely in love with this magnificient breed. I do obedience training with her, showing and now Breeding. I hope to do more showing with Yen and a son (Alfie) from her litter born on 3rd December 2007 . MAGIC (Jtenyen Hermiones Magic)
Magic d.o.b. 3rd December 2007. Red-fawn brushcoat with black mask, feminine face and body but good angles, with a lovely temperament, lovely strong black pigment in her tongue, Her bite is good also and no sign of tight lip syndrome either. She has lovely clear un-tacked eyes. She is very typical of the breed, adventurous, stubborn, independent and aloof and good guard dog. Outgoing, and intelligent shar-pei with very kind looking eyes. She curls up to sleep on my feet! Adoreable is not the word. She has mastered sit and stand, but only if there is a treat in your hand. As i said Stubborn. (She seems to enjoy the garden and not too fussed about the rain or soggy grass yet either). Tries everything with her mouth. trees/grass/bushes/fluff & play bark - you name it this little girl has tried it! lol. She gets on very well with her Mum. Injections all went well, she didnt feel a thing. She doesnt seem to mind too much having her nails trimmed or feet touched. She does Remind me of her mum (as a puppy) in personality and looks. She is a lovely example of the temperament and type in this breed.
Magic has now Joined Chifido Kennels and will be campaigned from June 2008 - We look forward to hearing about her results.
ALFIE (Jtenyen Happy Mondays) Alfie d.o.b. 3rd December 07. Red-Fawn brushcoat male with black mask and masculine as they come. Solid body, Scissor bite, good pigment, no sign of tight lip syndome and his temperament is more dominant, definately wants to be the alpha dog (already). He is learning rapidly. He is more attentive to training and human contact and the sound of my voice, sits immediately and comes when hes called from the garden. He is much more shy with strangers and visitors and shows his displeasure until he gets to know you and trust you. Something I hope will get better once he is trained and more widely socialised especially needed if he is to be touched by a judge in a show ring.
Happy and secure in his fabric indoor kennel to sleep although occasionally sleeps with his sister in her basket or vice versa she may sleep in his fabric kennel instead. He doesn't like his nails trimmed or his feet touched but will tolerate it. His mum has been training him on how to socialise and play nicely without losing his self control. Its working well and he is learning very quickly. He is not so keen on the rain or soggy grass but follows his sisters lead. When he got his Injections it was a slightly different story- well this little fella seemed to feel it before he even got touched by the vet. typical man drama drama drama! lol Another Nice puppy from this litter.
PUPPIES Yen had been mated to JOLEROB HELLS ANGEL AT HEADHOLME (HARLEY) Recently. Puppies arrived 3rd december 2007. All Puppies that were available have now are now sold!
I am looking forward to campaigning Alfie during 2008 in the show ring and do obedience training with him.
